The next up and coming installment from Tango Gameworks “The Evil Within franchise” Ghostwire Tokyo was announced at E3 2019 back in June and left audiences shocked. We were expecting a third installment to The Evil Within series but Tango dropped an announcement for a new IP Instead.
There was no given release date but had a theatrical trailer and said it was coming soon. It was presented by Tango Gameworks founder Shinji Mikami and game director Ikumi Nakamura (lead art designer for TEW & TEW2). There was nothing but silence on the project until September 4th when ikumi Nakamura tweeted that she was leaving Tango Gameworks after 9 years of service to the company leaving the project without a director.
On October 24th Shinji Mikami tweeted something that said Ghostwire and the rest was in Japanese. I used google translate and it say, “Tango is Urgently seeking Ghostwire level designers”. This means that the game is still in the development stage and not even close to releasing. Maybe Mikami will announce the new director, or maybe step in the directors chair himself?
